Creative Tuesday: Curtain

This time I did not create a beautiful curtain you might all expected. When I read CT`s new topic:"Curtain", only one picture appeared in my head: the Iron Curtain in Berlin. This "curtain" or wall divided Europe into two separate areas from the end of WWII till 1989. I know it was a rather horrible symbol of the Cold War, but I thought I might bring a little love and cheerfulness in it.(Eventhough such love-planes could never cross the "curtain" in those times...)

  4. Anita--this is brilliant! not jsut how playfully you've pictured it but the whole interpretation in the first place. Who would have thought of Churchill's famous descript!

I love this piece--the hand n the other side tossing over that love note airplane. Cute. Truly, what a sign of hope that woudl have been. :)

  10. You've given us a deep and wonderful interpretation... Did that take me by surprise, and just makes me remember that day the wall came down. But I love the little paper airplane that didn't have bounderies,

  12. Appropriately chilling, yet whimsical interpretation. I like the lightness of the piece with such a strong message behind it.

I also like the skill in your linework. Great work.

  13. This is a wonderful, profound piece, Anita. A reminder that children can redeem us. A moment of joy and whimsy in the face of a symbol of ugliness and sadness.
